About Hair Beauty Furniture

I have been in the hairdressing and beauty industry for over 55 years.
My career started at the age of 14, at a family business in London. I had to train as a barber first completing a 4 year apprenticeship; I then started my ladies hairdressing career for a further 3 years during this time I was trained as a beautician.
After working in some of the most exclusive salons in London, I decided to migrate to Australia.

I started working at some of the top salons in Victoria, before opening my own successful chair of salons together with my partner, we went on to own 7 very successful salons.
After many years I decided to make a change. I was contracted to L’Oréal Paris after one year, L’Oréal asked me to run an exclusive promotional area for their hairdressing salons within Australia, I was doing this for approximately 10 years.
I was then approached by Schwarzkopf to a run a promotional campaign for them; I continued to work with them for approximately 5 years.
After this I was approached by Wella Australia to help them with their salon equipment sales division.
Over this entire period in Australia I was on the MLHA committee in Victoria which is now known as HBIA.

I was also on the IHS committee in Victoria, one of my most rewarding positions whiles at L’Oréal and Schwarzkopf, was to be appointed the manager of the World Cup Team for Australia also known as the Hair Olympics. I was lucky enough to travel regular basis to France, Germany and of course England. I took a team to represent our country to Germany, Japan and London.
While traveling in Europe on one occasion, I visited Maletti hairdressing Furniture Company based in Reggio Emilia Italy, while there Maletti offered me a contract to supply their furniture to Australia and this part of the world. I knew this company as they were the sole supplier to L’Oréal worldwide.
On returning to Australia I started Hair and Beauty Furniture, with the knowledge of what hairdressers and beauticians needed based on my own personal experiences.
I am pleased to say that Hair and Beauty Furniture has now been operating for 18 years.

At one stage I had showrooms Australia wide displaying all of the furniture we offered at Hair and Beauty Furniture.
After 10 years Maletti decided to sell their new hairdressing products to a different distributor, however Nilo asked me to keep our association with their beauty furniture, which I still promote today.
Shortly after parting ways with Maletti, we teamed up with Pietranera another Italian hairdressing furniture manufacturer that we promote alongside Nilo.
As you can imagine this gives at Hair and Beauty Furniture a great outlook on supplying all furniture to a wide range of hairdressers and beauticians as we are able to offer furniture to everyone on any budget.
